Good, Bad or Ugly

Working with another person can be good, bad and even ugly. There are benefits of working with a classmate. Obstacles which you and your partner overcome or try to. You can also gain new understanding of the novel.

The benefits of working with a classmate can be good. You have someone to help you when you need it. For example my partner was stuck on how to make her question better. I gave her some advice but did not do the work for her. As partners you can work together to get things done faster because there is two people to do one thing and if you work as a team it will be done much faster. It is easier to do the work if it is shared. This is because both you and your partner are putting effort in to doing it. It can also make it easier because one person does not have to do all the work.

There can be many obstacles and problems that you might dump into. My partner and I had many problems as we went along. Some were fixable other not so fixable. For example we were trying to help each other. The only thing was that we did not understand that the other person meant. We solved it by talking on skype to figure it out. The thing that was a problem that we could not fix was that we were on at different times. This meant that if we needed to talk or tell the other person something at the last min we would not be able to do it.

You can gain new understanding of the book that you are reading. Reading through my partners work I could see what she thought of the the book. We have very different understandings of the book. To give you an example, she thinks that Jacob (the main character) is left by his family, when I think something completely different than her. This has come up in the literature circles quite often. It is amassing how almost everyone has a very different understanding of a book.

Partnering up might not be so bad. Working with another person might be challenging but if you work as a team it will be wroth the challenge.
